The state of Tennessee has formally adopted the Common Core State Standards and transition to these new, more rigorous standards will be completed by 2014-2015. The Sullivan County Department of Education has taken a proactive approach to the Common Core State Standards, with all K-2 curriculum transitioned to the Core Standards during the 2011-2012 school year. Many plans and workshops are in the works to ensure that our teachers have the most current information and collaborative time to plan for the coming transition.
